Looking Back on the Official Launch of Tò Mò

On January 13 we officially launched Tò Mò, together with friends, (future) partners, some familiar and many new faces from all realms of the cultural sector, at BIMHUIS.

We kicked off the afternoon with a little interactive exercise, introducing people to two tools from the agile toolbox: an icebreaker (in this case drawing to prompt the brain to think differently) and a liberating structure (a way to include and activate every person in a group).

In groups, we reflected on what is needed to accelerate digital transformation in the cultural sector (the consensus was more collaboration).

We also asked the question “What are three things you can do this week to make this happen?

Answers included:

  • Just start somewhere!
  • Co-create with our audience
  • Set up clear goals using tools such as a roadmap
  • Find alternatives for big American tech
  • Ensure enough space and calm to come up with new ideas
  • Follow-up on new connections I made here today

We have complete faith in that last intention, because we saw so many new connections being forged yesterday over drinks. The appetite for more collaboration is big in the cultural sector. We can’t wait to help encourage, shape and facilitate this with Tò Mò.

We want to thank in particular everyone who came for their participation and enthusiasm, as well as everyone who couldn’t make it but expressed their support and well wishes in other ways.

You have all filled us with even more energy and inspiration to help the cultural sector make big moves in 2026! We feel empowered in our mission to bridge the gap between rapid digital change and the cultural sector by sharing knowledge and shaping new ways of working.

If you have thoughts you want to share on this matter, a concrete question, a help request or tip. We’d love hear from you!
