Principles of Tò Mò

In every collaboration, we work from three key principles: clear goals, transparency around activities, and autonomy over one’s own work. In many projects these principles tend to get trampled underfoot, simply because the project is complex, uncertain and demanding. But when these principles are addressed, the work becomes easier and more enjoyable.

  • Clear Goals
It starts with formulating clear goals for the organisation. We ensure that the goals outlined in multi-year plans are interpreted consistently and find their way into the organisation in the right way.
  • Transparency
Transparency across different layers and departments increases engagement and enables teams to collaborate more effectively. By regularly sharing goals, successes and challenges, the organisation as a whole becomes stronger. We are transparent in our own work as well through regular review moments and continuous insight into the value we add.
  • Autonomy
In the cultural sector, people often work a lot and work hard, which can contribute to a sense of high workload. When clear goals are shared and supported across the organisation, motivation and autonomy increase, which in turn boosts agility and efficiency of teams. From MT to team members, clear goals and activities create space for individual input and decision-making. Transparency helps everyone maintain a sense of control over their own work and that of colleagues, enabling teams to move faster through complex questions that arise. Ultimately, this leads to more job satisfaction and less pressure.

A holistic approach

Any project, such as digital transformation almost always touches multiple parts of an organisation. What begins as “a small adjustment” can quickly ripple through processes, teams and ways of working. If that interconnectedness is recognised too late, projects stall or drift off course, solutions don’t align with daily practice, or they only work temporarily. That’s why we always ask the deeper questions: what exactly are we trying to solve, from which perspective are we approaching it, and which other processes will be affected?

Digital transformation is also a strategic question: every development must align with the organisation’s mission, vision and way of working. A change rarely stands on its own. With our method, we map the core of the question and all its touchpoints, ensuring that digital developments are grounded not only in sound technology, but also in clear content and workable organisational processes.
